Job Summary:

We are looking for a Production Control Analyst who is proficient with the use of the CA-7 or equivalent scheduling application and JCL. Know Your Team: Production Process Support (PPS) team responsible for ensuring business continuity by providing production support, IT infrastructure maintenance, and day-to-day first-line support to all employees during regular business hours. Any downtime in the client’s business would have a huge impact on their customer service. Digital and Cloud Solutions LoB is a major contributor to our growth. Responsibilities:

As a “Production Support Engineer – CA-7”, your day-to-day work activities will be as follows:

  • Analyze and adjust daily, weekly, monthly job streams to maintain schedules as required by application owner
  • Strong skills on the Unix Shell scripting. .
  • Log into to Unix/Linux environment to check Mainframe File transfer protocols
  • Follow the appropriate schedules and check-off sheets and monitor all the production systems running to ensure they are completed successfully and run in the proper sequence.
  • Coordinate all end user requests for AD HOC jobs, special production runs (implementing new applications, procedures or yearend work etc. assuring they run on specific timetables achieving the desired results.
  • Assist with troubleshooting follow up and resolving processing abends.
  • Analyze all production abends preventing daily schedules from completing successfully and follow up with the end users.
  • Reporting status of daily work, problems, projects, Communicate all pertinent scheduling info to all involved groups.

Requirements:

  • Strong skills in CA-7 batch monitoring and scheduling techniques for a multiplatform environment, or any other equivalent scheduling tool.
  • Extensive knowledge of batch processing and experienced in resolving batch abends like SB-37,SE-37, Catalog issues, JCL errors. Providing immediate fixes and submitting the job from CA-7-CA1.
  • Knowledge in TSO, ISPF, FileAID, SPOOL.
  • Strong skills in Unix Shell scripting.
  • Knowledge and experience in Endevor / any version control tool.
  • Have knowledge / experience in service management application such as Service-Now.
  • A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.
  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build client relationship/rapport quickly.

Desired Skill-Set:

Candidates having these extra skills on their resumes have an added advantage:

  • Having scripting know/edge / experience is a plus
