Ramesh Kshirsagar, Senior Technical Lead
I was born and brought up in Hyderabad, India. Growing up in Cyberabad, I realized the booming career opportunities in the IT industry. So, I decided to study computer science in my graduation, which laid the foundation for my career. Soon after my graduation, I worked as a faculty for C, C++, and Java at a Computer/Software training institute.
Driven by a strong desire to work in the IT industry, I decided to quit the teaching job and pursued my post-graduation. Eventually, my career in the IT industry started with great excitement. Having served various roles in the IT industry since then, I acquired extensive knowledge and experience in the insurance technology domain.
My journey with ValueMomentum started four years ago as a Software Engineer. Today, I’m working as a Senior Technical Lead with the Digital & Cloud team. I am passionate about acquiring knowledge in contemporary technologies such as Amazon Web Services & Azure Cloud.

Describe your typical day at work.
My day at work starts with stand-up meetings where I track my team’s story cards and recommend design solutions to the team members. As a technical lead, I review the code changes and unit test cases, fix QA related issues on the test environment, and clarify different project related issues or approaches to the stakeholders.
Some of my day-to-day activities include building packages, deploying changes, analyzing pre-production errors logged in Splunk, and updating my onsite counterpart with the progress of the project. I attend the sprint planning and retrospective meetings and track SVN history to analyze the changes committed by the team members.
We are often challenged by complex and changing customer needs. Every day brings new challenges to resolve and opportunities to learn, and I thoroughly take pleasure in both!
What are the technologies that you are most excited about in your current project?
My current project involves the development of Microservices architecture using cloud-based solutions. Also, we develop applications using Mendix low-code platform tool which is integrated with multiple systems (Integration, OneShield) using REST services. Java and jQuery are core parts of this tool.
What does it take to become a good tech lead?
The only technique to become a good leader is to respect, trust, listen and communicate effectively with the team members. A tech lead needs to have patience while addressing issues related to requirement gaps, design changes, and wrongly committed changes by the team. Sometimes, I handhold my team during implementation, debugging and testing.
What's something that you've worked on at ValueMomentum that you're proud of?
I led a pilot project called ‘Quote and Application System’ using the Mendix tool and it ran for one-and-a-half years. The success of this project reinforced my capabilities in leading the project. The application enabled the client to quickly process and issue insurance policies online. It was a breakthrough achievement in my career.
What made you stay with ValueMomentum?
ValueMomentum has given me a rewarding opportunity to explore varied technologies from core application services to the hottest cloud computing. I also enjoy handling diverse customer challenges, thanks to the supportive team environment and e the flexible working hours.
